As earlier implied, this means a commitment to developing a total holistic way of life.
At this time in history in this world of chaos it means living in a way in which you are willing to become a quiet peaceful eye in the center of the storm raging around you. To do this one must love themselves enough to want to heal themselves.
For many people who who choose to work with me I often become a life mentor and specifically a support for spiritual evolution over time.
My work clearly includes a very thoughtful examination of your physical health as a starting point. The initial meeting can run between 2 1/2 to 3 hours. For some people it could be a short as an hour and a half and or as long as three hours. I am extremely client-centered and my intent is to give you the attention you need to support every level of your health.
I have been doing this since 1973 with people from over 128 nations. A lot of this work has been done over the internet and in today's present chaos and difficulty traveling, working over the internet is the only way to make it happen. Fortunately, working over the internet with clients is not a new endeavor and I have created a detailed approach to making this very effective in achieving our overall holistic health goals.
In adjusting to the present world situation, the only test that I am now asking people to do is to have a fasting blood sugar done three separate times, which you can do on your own by buying a little blood sugar measuring machine called a glucometer or go to a location where you can get your fasting blood sugar taken. After the first visit, I recommend specific testing if necessary. I also appreciate if you send any medical records do you have via email. By the end of the first session, I will have made a comprehensive assessment and will provide you with a full range of lifestyle suggestions—including diet as well as specific supplements to take to improve your overall health.
In the early 1970s explored in serious research the difference between healing with a variety of supplements versus lifestyle change by itself. There was a dramatic difference and that those who took supplements healed significantly faster. In general, to reach optimal health, it may take between three months and two years. Once you have reached this optimum level, I help you move into an ongoing maintenance program that will support you over the years.
After the initial visit, I like to have a shorter follow-up visit with you 2 - 3 months later to evaluate your progress. This visit generally lasts between 1 - 1.5 hours. After this initial follow-up, additional visits have progressively shorter intervals. Once you have reached a maintenance level, I may see you as little as twice a year. Everyone has different needs and some people need to be seen every three months depending on their needs.
All programs are designed to meet the client's individual needs. Life is a continual evolution and there is no one final fix or pattern. My approach, which I've been doing now since the mid-70's, is to be like the old-fashioned family doctor who is your doctor for life—and perhaps for your family as well.
It's very powerful to be taking care of whole families. Literally I have seen some families since the mid-70's on an ongoing evolutionarily basis because people evolve on every level over time. In addition to being a holistic physician, I am also a psychiatrist and a family and couple therapist and I often work with people on all these levels as a "Physician of the Soul". This creates a very special integrated approach that is extremely effective.
What I am clearly saying is my approach to creating overall holistic health is distinctly different than the allopathic symptom-focused approach. A key to this approach is developing a personal relationship that helps inspire people to love themselves enough to heal themselves. In addition to these personalized sessions, I have created a variety of workshops including a bi-annual Online Spiritual Fasting Retreat and Zero Point Intensive (an online course to help you work with yourself psycho spiritually). I also offer the Essene Way monthly workshop as well as a supportive online community. I have found these programs and offerings to be extremely supportive to people's overall holistic health evolution. People generally do better with group support. In this way, I'm relating to you not only as a holistic physician, but as a "Physician of the Soul".

His hourly fee is $500. The first evaluation session is typically 2.5 hours. A follow-up meeting is usually 1 hour. These times are estimates. Your appointment may be longer depending on your specific health needs.
As part of the Health Plan, Dr. Cousens prescribes supplements for his patients that can cost anywhere between $1,500 and $3,000 for a 3-month supply.
